Poker professional Annand Ramdin resides in the Bronx, New York but he used to live in Georgetown, Guyana in South America, where he was also born on May 28, 1968, before he migrated to the United States.

In 2002, Annand Ramdin went to a bar where he saw people playing poker. He got interested in the game and soon found himself playing the game too. He had the opportunity to meet Phil Ivey, who is one of the big names in the poker tournament circuit and who became his mentor for quite some time.

In the same year that Annand Ramdin started playing poker, he also started joining major poker events. His participation in the 2002 U.S. Poker Championship was his first major involvement with the poker world, having placed eighth in a Limit Hold'em game held on December 11 and having placed fifth in a Limit Omaha Hi/Lo game held on December 13.

In 2003, Annand Ramdin became a participant of the 34th Annual World Series of Poker. He cashed in the money in the two events he joined in, namely, the Pot Limit Hold'em game and the No Limit Hold'em game.

Although Annand Ramdin only started playing poker in 2002, there was no denying that he was already skillful during that time. We can call it luck but we can also call it talent. Well, we can call it whatever we want but one thing is for sure, Annand Ramdin is definitely earning money from poker ever since the day he started playing it.

But the most remarkable one was his triumph at the Foxwoods Poker Classic, which was an event organized by the World Poker Tour on April 9, 2006. He was able to defeat the cards of poker player Alex Jacob, which were a King of Diamond and a Jack of Clover. Annand Ramdin's cards were an Ace of Heart and a Jack of Spade. For the win, he had the chance to take home US$1,331,889.
